The initial cost is very comparable but where Interlocking Paving Stones have an advantage is in its life expectancy, Interlocking Paving Stones will last a lifetime because of its high strength 8000psi compared to placed concrete which is 2500psi. They also have the ability to flex and move because of the joints between the pavers. Stamped Concrete is susceptible to cracking and therefore has a life expectancy of about 15-30 years depending on the use of rebar and mesh.

All Weeds and Vegetation need sunlight to grow, growth in between the Interlocking Paving Stones occur when airborne spores infiltrate the sand joints. Using Polymeric Sand and or Sealing your Interlocking Paving Stones will virtually eliminate weed growth. However if required you can spray an approved herbicide to the area or power wash the pavers, any joint sand that is washed out will need to be replaced.
Depending on your specific site conditions Sealing may be a good idea the benefits are: Protected from oil, leaf stains, protects the original color, limits vegetation growth, prevents efflorescence recurring, helps with general maintenance
Polymeric Sand is a high tech mix of graded sand with an organic binder specially formulated to fill the joints between the Interlocking Paving Stones, it must be applied only in dry weather and once it has cured it helps to resist insects and weeds.
